V1 populations

A set of V1 populations are implicitly defined by the number of STF channels determined from the <filters> object. The names of the V1 populations are set automatically as follows:

  v1_c0
  v1r_c0
  v1_c1
  v1r_c1
  ...
where the v1_... populations correspond to signals for the left-eye stream and the v1r_... populations correspond to signals for the right-eye stream. The c stands for channel, and the integer following the c indicates the channel index in [0 .. n-1] for n STF channels.

These names are used in the response parameter file (.rsp file) to request responses from particular V1 units. They are also used in model architecture files (.mar files), which can be written by WM (the modeling software application) and viewed using the iModel Viewer (see iModV under the Download link at iModel.org)
